Ysgoldy Goch was donated to the church in 1891 by Mrs Sarah Waddingham, wife of the late John Waddingham, to house the Sunday school. The building takes its name from red tiles on the roof. In 2005 Ysgoldy Goch was awarded a Grade II listing as an iconic building of late 19th century Gothic Revival style associated with the Hafod Estate. A foundation slate on the side of the building bears the inscription: Erected to the glory of God by Mrs Sarah Waddingham in the year 1891.
Recent upgrading now provides a comfortable and practical hall with a new kitchen, toilet facilities and a large off-road parking area.
The building is situated on the B4574 approximately 400m north east of Eglwys Newydd church and on the boundary of the Hafod Estate. Grid reference 27707 27394.
